PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK (January 10-14, 2011)

At the request of the Parent Leaders for Education, the Cities of Reno and Sparks have proclaimed January 10-14, 2011 Public Schools Week - a week in which public officials and citizens are encouraged to become more informed of the funding challenges facing the Nevada public schools and support the message that Quality Education is Important.

As part of this important week, Parent Leaders for Education is inviting public officials to an elementary school in each state assembly district in Washoe County School District. If you want to Meet and Greet your legislator, please check dates below.

EVENT UPDATE

Last Friday, we completed a very successful "Public Schools Week" that was proclaimed by the cities of Reno & Sparks at our request. We arranged for and invited the Reno/Sparks legislators to visit various schools during the week -- 9 of the 10 legislators and Sparks Mayor Martini participated! For most, it was his/her first official visit to a school as a legislator or candidate.
